What is Nine Star Ki?
Nine Star Ki is an ancient wisdom based in nature and is intertwined with Chinese Medicine and feng shui. It’s a simple and graceful way to gain awareness about our own energy and the way we move through life. Whereas feng shui is about energy and how it flows through an environment, the Nine Star Ki connects our energy with timing. Nine Star Ki is based on a number system of nine elemental stars, and each person has multiple stars in their Nine Star reading.
Understanding your Nine Star Ki can also give you some clues about what you can expect energetically from the year ahead. Read on to learn how to calculate your Nine Star Ki birth number and what that means for you in 2024*.
*Nine Star Ki follows the solar calendar much like the Chinese New Year so the timings are slightly different. The new year begins on 4th February 2024 and runs through to 3rd February 2025
How to Calculate Your Own Nine Star Number
To calculate your birth number, you’ll want to add up the digits of your birth year until you reach a single digit number, and then subtract that from 11. If you were born between January 1 and February 4, you will subtract that number from 12 instead. Here are a couple of examples:
If you were born in 1986:
Add: 1+9+8+6 = 24
Reduce to a single digit: 2+4 = 6
Subtract from 11: 11-6 = 5
*if you were born between January 1 and February 4, subtract from 12: 12-6 = 6
If you were born in 1940:
Add: 1+9+4+0 = 14
Reduce to a single digit: 1+4 = 5
Subtract from 11: 11-5 = 6 *if you were born between January 1 and February 4, subtract from 12: 12-5 = 7
How you can work with the energy of 2024
Now that you know your number, here’s what all that calculating means for 2024.
If your birth number is 1, 2024’s theme of the year is Let’s Go- rise, sprout and proceed. This year will be energetic and full of new beginnings as you catch sight of seeds that you planted last year begin to sprout and grow. The slower pace of the last couple of years is replaced by enthusiasm. You can now start to really put those plans into action. Be fearless, and try new things.
If your birth number is 2, 2024’s theme of the year is Rapid Growth. This year will build on the ideas of last year and you will see your sprouts grow into strong, grounded plants. This could mean relationships developing or projects taking shape that you started in 2023. This year is all about growth, adaptability and making adjustments. Challenge any self-doubt and indecision by baring in mind all you need to know is what the next step is and focus on that.
If your birth number is 3, 2024’s theme of the year is Fluctuation. This year will feel a little chaotic, as this is a time of renewal and rebirth. There will be lots of fluctuation to navigate. You may need to reinvent yourself this year. It’s a great time to let things go that are no longer serving you. Create opportunities to pause and balance.
