About Lindsey

Finding the Compass in the Chaos
For twenty-five years, I lived within a structure I thought was permanent. But when my marriage ended, the "scaffolding" of my life—the support, the safety, and the mask I didn’t even know I was wearing—was stripped away. I found myself in a state of total discombobulation, adrift on an ocean I didn’t have the map for.
It was in this space of profound instability that I found the truth: I am autistic.
From "Popping Candy" to Solid Ground
My diagnosis at age 45 wasn't just a clinical label; it was a series of "popping candy" moments. It was the sharp, sweet spark of finally understanding why interruptions felt like explosions, why I got lost in "My Precious" interests, and why I’d spent a lifetime laughing at jokes I didn’t understand just to fit in.
But when the psychiatrist’s door closed, I was met with a hollow silence. I was handed a diagnosis but no directions. As someone who has spent years teaching mindfulness and supporting others through transitions, I was stunned by the lack of a "manual" for this new terrain.

Why I Created "Guided by Autism"
After my diagnosis, I felt both relieved and completely lost. I was surprised by the lack of affirming, accessible support available for women trying to make sense of such life-changing information. I wrote Guided by Autism to be the companion I wish I’d had — a supportive guide to help women feel seen, understood, and less alone as they learn to honour their own needs, sensitivities, and way of being
I didn't want to write a "how-to" book. I wanted to write a "how-you've-always-been" book and to create a sanctuary where late-diagnosed women could pause, breathe, and finally feel seen.
My Mission: Materializing Your Peace
My writing is rooted in a deep-seated gift for holding space and providing a sense of sanctuary. I’ve realized that my role is to be a steady anchor for late-diagnosed women, offering the calm and grounded perspective needed to navigate this life-changing discovery.
Whether through the pages of my book, my blog or through gentle regulation frameworks, I am here to help you turn your 'difference' into your greatest source of stability.
You are still the same person you’ve always been—you just finally have the language to advocate for the life you deserve.
